Father Drowns After Saving His Two Children From Capsized Boat
Komfie Manalo - All Headline News Foreign Correspondent Bataan, Philippines (AHN) - A Filipino overseas contract worker drowned after saving his two children when their motorized boat capsized in Bagac, Bataan in the Philippines off the South China Sea. The police identified the fatality as 33-year-old Antonio Pillagara Jr. from Bataan. He was able to save his two children from drowning, but he suffered cramps and was swept by the strong undercurrent. Investigators said his two children were thrown to the sea when big waves struck their boat. The father hurriedly dove into the water to save his children. The man and his family were on their way to see a relative who was throwing a sendoff party as he was leaving for Saudi Arabia to work, when the incident happened.
