Fidel Castro To Return As Cuban President
Komfie Manalo - All Headline News Foreign Correspondent Havana, Cuba (AHN) - Cuban Foreign Minister Felipe Perez Roque told the daily newspaper Granma that ailing Cuban leader Fidel Castro is set to return as the country's president after recovering from his operation. He told the newspaper, "We will again have him leading the revolution," Roque made the disclosure after speaking at an outdoor event to discuss the effects of U.S. trade embargoes against the tiny nation. However, Roque did not give a specific date on the return of Castro to power. Castro temporarily handed his powers to his younger brother Raul Castro who was also the country's defense minister, after undergoing surgery in July. The 75-year-old Raul is the top official in charge of Cuba until Fidel Castro is well enough to get back to work full time.
