Police Arrests Seven Local Officials For Killing Six In The Philippines
Komfie Manalo - All Headline News Foreign Correspondent Manila, Philippines (AHN) - The Philippine National Police on Wednesday has arrested seven local village officials including its chief, in connection with the killing on Sunday of six laborers over a drinking spat. Chief Superintendent Leopoldo Bataoil, district director of the PNP - Northern Police District Command, said arrested were village chieftain Graciano F. Victorino and his six security officers. In a statement to All Headline News (AHN), Bataoil says Supt. Nap Cuaton, chief investigator of the Caloocan City Police, swooped down in the village hall of barangay Bignay in Valenzuela, Metro Manila, north of the capital Manila at noontime on Wednesday to arrest Victorino and his accomplices. The suspects were positively identified by witnesses who saw them herding six employees of the Ken Dragoon Smelting Company outside a Toyota Tamaraw FX van before shooting them early morning Sunday. The six died immediately at the scene and were left by the suspects in a subdivision in Caloocan City. Bataoil quickly ordered a manhunt against the perpetrators of the hideous crime and asked Cuaton to leave no stones unturned to bring the suspects to justice.
