EU, Russia Agree To Begin Talk On New Partnership Agreement
Som Patidar - All Headline News Staff Writer United Nations (AHN) - After meeting with foreign ministers from European Union member countries at the United Nations headquarters, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Saturday that Russia and the European Union have agreed to start negotiations on a new partnership and cooperation agreement. "We have agreed that by the start of 2007 the European Commission will receive the mandate to open negotiations with us," Lavrov said. The new agreement will replace the existing agreement that will expire on November 30, 2007.
