16 Killed, 50 Injured In Road Accidents In Bangladesh
Siddique Islam - All Headline News Foreign Correspondent Dhaka, Bangladesh (AHN) - At least 16 people were killed and 50 injured in several road accidents in Bangladesh on Monday. In Dhaka, Rumana Rashid, a doctor of the Holy Family Hospital was killed early Monday at about 4 am (local time) when her private car turned turtle on the road at about 2 am at Amin Bazar area in the capital city, the bdnews24.com, a local news agency reported. Nine people were killed and 50 injured when a truck hit a passenger-bus in front of the Shahjibazar Gas Field at Madhabpur upazila in Habiganj district at around 11:30 am (local time). The bus fell into a roadside ditch killing five on the spot. Later four others succumbed to their injuries at a local hospital, the agency reported. Six people were killed and four others injured when the driver of a Sherpur-bound micro-bus carrying a bridegroom party from Atghoria in Pabna lost control over steering and fell into a roadside pond near Jamuna Bridge on Elenga-Modhupur road in Athardana area at Ghatail upazila under Tangail district.
