British Soldier Dies in Traffic Accident During Training In Canada
Mort Karman - All Headline News Staff Reporter Alberta, Canada (AHN) - A military bus with 17 British Army personnel rolled over in heavy rain on Highway 1 near the town of Bassano, Alberta, about 93 miles from Calgary. One UK Soldier was killed and 16 others were slightly injured. All 16 have been treated and released from hospital. The troops were training at Canadian Forces Base Suffield in south eastern Alberta. No other vehicles were involved in the incident, which is being investigated by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. "We can confirm that 17 British service personnel traveling in a coach have been involved in a road traffic accident near Bassano in Canada," said a spokesman for the British Ministry of Defense. "Sadly we regret to inform that one UK soldier has died as a result of his injuries." The name of the soldier has not been released pending notification of next of kin.
