EU Exploratory Mission Arrives In Bangladesh

Dhaka, Bangladesh (AHN) - A six-member European Union (EU) exploratory mission arrived in Dhaka on Monday to assess a plan to field a full-fledged team to observe the next general election.

The delegates met acting Foreign Secretary of Bangladesh Touhid Hossain at the foreign ministry in the city.

European Commission official Andrew Bruce told newsmen that the delegates would study voter registration, delimitation of constituencies and electoral complaint mechanism during their 10-day tour.

The team is comprised of security, legal and logistic experts who would assess usefulness and feasibility to field an electoral observation mission.
