NATO Operation Kills 30 Insurgent In Southern Afghanistan

Kabul, Afghanistan (AHN) - At least 30 Taliban insurgents were killed on Saturday under the NATO led 'Operation Medusa' in southern Afghanistan.

NATO confirmed the deaths of insurgents in a statement and also informed that over 300 Taliban insurgents had been killed in weeklong operation.

On the other hand, a Taliban spokesman denies NATO's claims.

Meanwhile, NATO's general secretary Jaap de Hoop Scheffer reiterated Friday the demand for more troops in Afghanistan but did not give any exact number that would be needed.
