Israel Closes Hamas Financial Front
Ryan R. Jones - All Headline News Middle East Correspondent Jerusalem, Israel (AHN) - Israeli security forces Friday raided and closed down an Arab prisoner advocacy organization called "My Friend the Prisoner" headquartered in the Galilee town of Majdal Krum. A statement issued by Israel's General Security Service (Shabak) accused the group of being "one of the most well-greased systems for transferring money from Hamas to jailed security prisoners in Israeli jails. It constituted the long arm of the Hamas acting under the protection of Israeli law." My Friend the Prisoner was operated almost exclusively by Arabs who had served time in Israeli prisons for security offenses against the nation's Jewish population. The group's branches throughout the West Bank were also raided.
