Armed Man Infiltrates British Embassy In Israel
Ryan R. Jones - All Headline News Middle East Correspondent Jerusalem, Israel (AHN) - A Palestinian man managed to gain entrance to Britain's embassy in Tel Aviv with a hand gun Thursday afternoon, and demanded he be granted political asylum in the European nation. He threatened to kill himself inside the embassy compound if his request was denied. Nadim Injaz, 28, told Israel's Channel 2 News that as a former informer for Israel's security services, he would be killed if he returned to his hometown of Ramallah, leaving him no choice but to take drastic measures. "They will either take me out of here to Europe, or as a body," Injaz insisted. British officials invited Israeli police onto the embassy grounds to deal with the situation. They said the man Injaz had apparently jumped the high fence that rings the compound. Palestinian militant groups regularly hunt down and execute fellow Arabs suspected of cooperating with Israel's war on terror.
