Defiant Iran Allegedly Still Enriching Uranium
Komfie Manalo - All Headline News Foreign Correspondent Vienna, Austria (AHN) - An official from the European Union said on Wednesday that a defiant Iran has been enriching uranium despite the looming August 31 deadline set by the world body to suspend such operations or face possible sanctions from the U.N. Security Council. The official who asked not be named told the AP that Tehran has continued its uranium enrichment program until Tuesday. On Thursday, the U.N. Security Council is set to act on Tehran's uranium enrichment program which could be used in the development of nuclear weapons, after the August 31 deadline to freeze such activity expires. The official adds, Iran has consistently snubbed efforts made by several world powers to conduct fresh meeting on its nuclear program. Iran's refusal to stop its uranium enrichment will be detailed in a report to be submitted by the International Atomic Energy Agency on Thursday
