China Urges Iran To Take Diplomatic Route In Solving Nuke Issue
Komfie Manalo - All Headline News Foreign Correspondent Beijing, China (AHN) - A senior Chinese Foreign Ministry official said on Wednesday the Iranian nuclear issue could be resolved peacefully through diplomatic talks. The official, who asked not be named, said it is the best choice Iran has to take as well as all parties concerned. The statement of the Chinese official came a day after Iran's top nuclear negotiator, Ali Larjani on Tuesday said his country is prepared to have "serious talks" to six superpowers to end its nuclear programs standoff. Larjani with envoys from China, Britain, France, Russia, Germany and Switzerland in the Iranian capital of Tehran on Tuesday to discuss its options. Larjani was quoted as saying, "Iran now is ready for serious talks with the six world powers from this Wednesday over the package." The state's Xinhua News Agency quotes the official as saying, "China has always believed that seeking a peaceful resolution to the Iranian nuclear issue through diplomatic talks is the best choice (to solve the issue) and in the interests of all parties concerned." He said Beijing is closely studying the response made by Iran. But he said China wants to see Iran to consider the concerns given by the international community regarding its nuclear program and come up with the necessary and constructive proposals.
