Malaysia To Issue Multiple-Entry Visas To Chinese And Indian Nationals
Komfie Manalo - All Headline News Foreign Correspondent Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (AHN) - Malaysian Deputy Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak on Thursday said his government will issue Chinese and Indian nationals one-year multiple-entry visas in a major push to promote the country's tourism. According to the state's Bernama News Agency, the multiple-entry visa has a one-year expiration but not more than 30 days each entry so as to avoid illegal or overstaying "tourists." The move was made by the Malaysian government after records from the country's tourism department showing an increasing number of Indian and Chinese visitors. The two countries comprise 10 percent of the 7.19 visitors to various destinations in Malaysia from January to May this year. Early this month, Malaysia's Home Affairs Minister Radzi Sheik Ahmad said Kuala Lumpur will allow tourist from 23 countries to apply for a one-month visa upon their arrival at the country's airports starting September 1.
