Suicide Bomber Kills NATO Soldier In Afghanistan
Yvonne Lee - All Headline News Staff Reporter (AHN) - A suicide bomber attacks a convoy in Kandahar, Afghanistan, killing a NATO soldier and himself. The bomber crashed his vehicle, which was packed with explosives, into the convoy in Spin Boldak district, near the border with Pakistan. The soldier's nationality has not been disclosed. NATO sent 8,000 soldiers to take over control of southern Afghanistan on July 31. The International Security Assistance Force soldiers are stationed in six southern provinces - Day Kundi, Helmand, Kandahar, Nimroz, Uruzgan and Zabul. A statement from ISAF says, "The incident occurred on the road from Spin Boldak to Kandahar when a white Toyota Corolla drove towards an ISAF convoy and exploded near one of the vehicles." Ten ISAF soldiers have been killed since NATO took over from U.S. forces.
