Some Israeli Arabs Ready To Fight Hezbollah
Ryan R. Jones - All Headline News Correspondent Jerusalem, Israel (AHN) - While some Israeli Arabs have blamed Israel and the US for their suffering under Hezbollah rocket attacks, others have signaled their readiness to join the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and do battle with the Lebanese terror group. Israel's Itim news agency reported Friday that a group of young Israeli Arabs have asked Defense Minister Amir Peretz to immediately draft them into the IDF in response to Hezbollah leader Sheikh Hassan Nasrallah's call earlier this week for Arab residents of Haifa to evacuate. The letter they wrote to Peretz read: "We are proud of Israel, and its just struggle, and are prepared to carry out any mission that the IDF gives us." An young Arab mother and her five-year-old son were killed in a Hezbollah rocket attack on northern Israel Thursday. The deaths brought to 17 the number of Arab killed in Hezbollah attacks since July 12, a full 40 percent of Israel's total civilian fatalities.
