IDF Downs Hezbollah Drone
Ryan R. Jones - All Headline News Correspondent Jerusalem, Israel (AHN) - The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) shot down a Hezbollah unmanned drone over Israeli waters just north of the port city of Haifa Monday. It was not the first time Hezbollah has employed drones against Israel. Another drone entered Israeli airspace in April 2005, snapping aerial photographs of 18 Galilee communities, according to the terror group. Israel officials have expressed a degree of surprise at the high level of sophistication of Hezbollah's weapons, which are supplied by Iran via Syria. Hezbollah has hit northern Israel with dozens of dozens of medium-range Iranian-made Fajr-5 missiles, and is believed to be in possession of long-range ZelZal-2 missiles; in the opening days of the recent conflict Hezbollah crippled an Israeli corvette of the coast of Beirut with an advanced anti-ship missile; and powerful anti-tank weaponry used by Hezbollah has repeatedly taken out Israeli armor as it enters Lebanon.
