Venezuela Recalls Its Ambassador To Israel
Yvonne Lee - All Headline News Staff Reporter Caracas, Venezuela (AHN) - President Hugo Chavez says "indignation" over military action in Lebanon led him to recall Venezuela's ambassador to Israel. He says in a televised address, "We have ordered the withdrawal of our ambassador in Israel," adding that the Israeli offensive is "genocide." Chavez has been a vocal opponent of Israeli military action against Hezbollah guerrillas in Lebanon. He mentioned the increasing number of civilian deaths and urged the United Nations to intervene in stopping the violence. The Venezuelan president says, "It really causes indignation to see how the state of Israel continues bombing, killing ... with all of the power they have, with the support of the United States."
