Update: Six IDF Brigades Are Currently Operating In Lebanon
Ryan R. Jones - All Headline News Correspondent Jerusalem, Israel (AHN) - Thousands of Israeli soldiers operating at a depth of up to four miles into Lebanon engaged Hezbollah terrorists in some 20 different locations Thursday. The large incursion force, which is roughly the size of six full brigades, is tasked with mopping up Hezbollah fighters and arms in the narrow strip of land along the Israel-Lebanon border. There were no reports of Israeli casualties by midday. One soldier was killed Wednesday during an intense battle at the village of Aita al-Shaab. Israel's goal is to push Hezbollah north of the Litani River, located about 18 miles from the border, but army officials said they will take their time and make sure no pockets of resistance are left behind. This despite the fact Israel is operating under the assumption that the international community will impose a ceasefire next week.
