Hezbollah Can Hit Anywhere In Israel, According To Group Founder
Ryan R. Jones - All Headline News Correspondent Jerusalem, Israel (AHN) - Iran's former ambassador to Syria and the man largely credited with establishing Hezbollah says the Lebanese terror group is in possession of long-range Iranian-made missiles capable of striking any part of Israel. In an interview with Iran's Sharq newspaper published on Thursday, Ali Akbar Mohtashemi-Pur said Hezbollah has several Zelzal-2 missiles with an approximate range of 250 kilometers (160 miles). He also hinted Hezbollah has obtained non-conventional weapons via its sponsors in Tehran and Damascus. Mohtashemi-Pur warned that unlike "countries that have weapons but don't have the courage to use them," Hezbollah will not hesitate to employ all resources at its disposal against Israel. The former diplomat doubted Israeli claims that up to 70 percent of Hezbollah's war-making ability has been destroyed, noting that the group has an extensive network of deep bunkers which have been used to maintain constant rocket fire on northern Israel even in the midst of intense Israeli military action. Believed to have played a major role in Hezbollah's 1983 bombing of a US Marines barracks in Beirut, Mohtashemi-Pur today heads an Iranian organization that supports Palestinian terrorism against Israel.
