110 Hezbollah Rockets Strike Israel
Nji Che - All Headline News Staff Writer Jerusalem, Israel (AHN) - Israeli police officials on Wednesday confirmed Hezbollah fighters fired more than a hundred rockets into northern Israel by midday. An Israeli civilian was killed in the incident. Police counted 110 rockets as being fired into Jewish territory, and said the number was much higher than the daily average number of missiles fired since the fighting began more than two weeks ago. The rocket onslaught came after Israeli Defense Forces boosted the offensive against the Islamic militia in Lebanon. The offensive included a raid on a hospital near the Syrian border. Israeli officials said the area served as a base for Hezbollah fighters. CNN quotes the Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert as saying, "there are no patients there, there is no hospital. This is the basis of Hezbollah in disguise. It's named a hospital precisely to mislead you and others that will consider it a place no army will intervene with." At least 29 Hezbollah rockets struck the following Israeli cities; Nahariya, Safed, Tiberias, Kiryat Shmona, Carmiel, Maalot and upper Galilee. Others struck family homes in the country. Local authorities said 15 people were wounded while thirty suffered from a trauma.
