Violence Intensifies In Lebanon

The spike in violence occured even as the Israeli Defense Force (IDF) is preparing for a larger ground offensive in southern Lebanon. Thousands of Israeli soldiers are scheduled to be deployed to southern Lebanon as Israel's cabinet approved the expansion of its military offensive.
