40 Lebanese Civilians Killed In Israel's Bloodiest Attack
Som Patidar - All Headline News Staff Writer Beirut, Lebanon (AHN) - In a bloodiest attack made by Israeli troops on Lebanon during the 19-day-old fighting with Hizbollah, an Israeli air strike killed at least 40 Lebanese civilians, including 21 children, in a southern Lebanese village on Sunday. The Israeli attack came only hours after Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah warned to attack on more cities in central Israel if attacks on Lebanon continued. United State secretary for state Condoleezza Rice, who returned to the Middle East for peace talks, said she hoped for a deal on ceasefire terms to be outlined in a UN Security Council resolution that could be tabled as early as Tuesday. Nearly 523 Lebanese, mostly civilians, and above 50 Israelis have been killed in the fighting between Israeli troops and Hezbollah that erupted on July 12.
