India's TCS Eyeing China's $30bn IT Market
Som Patidar - All Headline News Staff Writer Bangalore, India (AHN) - India's Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) said Friday that its joint venture, JV, Company in China will start making profit in 12 to 18 months, as the company looks to grab a 'big slice' of China's $30 billion Information Technology (IT) market. Managing Director of Tata Consultancy Services, Mr. Ramadorai told reporters that the new joint venture would bid for large Chinese domestic market engagements which its existing wholly-owed subsidiary in China with 500 employees was not allowed to do under Chinese laws. Ramadorai says, "The joint venture, JV, had applied for a business licence, which would come by September before starting our full operations in China." He adds, TCS also planned to scale up operations to 5,000 people in about four years.
