Report: Iran, Syria Confer On Supplying Hezbollah
Ryan R. Jones - All Headline News Correspondent Damascus, Syria (AHN) - Top Iranian and Syrian officials met in Damascus Thursday to discuss methods for continuing the flow of arms to Hezbollah as it battles Israel, according to Middle East media. Iran's Mehr news agency, the Iranian Labor News Agency and the Fars agency all reported that Ali Larijani, secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, had traveled to Damascus for talks with Syrian President Bashar Assad, but did not provide any further details. Kuwait's Al-Siyassah newspaper, citing "well-informed Syrian sources," said Hezbollah leader Sheik Hassan Nasrallah was also taking part in the talks, which focused on maintaining supplies to the Lebanese terror group. An unnamed Egyptian official told the Galil Report that Iran managed to deliver 3,000 rockets to Hezbollah earlier this week via the Syria-Lebanon border. The shipment reportedly included Katyushas, anti-aircraft and anti-tank missiles, medium-range Farj-3 and Fajr-5 rockets, and long-range Zalzel missiles.
