Protestor Interrupts Blair's Healthcare Speech
Shaveta Bansal - All Headline News Staff Writer London, UK (AHN) - British Prime Minister Tony Blair's speech on public health was interrupted Wednesday after a protestor jumped in shouting, at the Albert Hall in Nottingham. The protestor identified as Kirk Jackson removed his shirt revealing an anti-Iraq war slogan painted on his chest. "We were expecting you," Blair said to 34-year-old heckler. The protestor while struggling to make himself heard, took off his red T-shirt revealing the words "Iraq war" painted on his chest and "Impeach Tony Blair" on his back. Blair said, "One of the great things about this country is it is a democracy and you are entitled to express your view but I'm also entitled to make my speech." As the protester was escorted out of the auditorium by security, Blair addressed him directly, saying he would have had a chance to ask a question. Nottinghamshire police said Jackson, a self styled anarchist, did not belong to any particular group and was not arrested.
