Typhoon 'Glenda' Displaces 2,600 In The Philippines
Josephine Roque - All Headline News Staff Writer Manila, Philippines (AHN) - Typhoon 'Glenda' poured waist-deep floods that displaced an estimated 2,600 from their homes near Manila. Evacuees took refuge in schools or with relatives after the typhoon lashed heavy rains on the northern Philippines. The cities of Malabon, Valenzuela and Navotas were also plagued by flooding. Local officials could not release evacuation figures in those areas. 'Glenda' dropped by the Philippines last Monday before going to Taiwan. Heavy rains continued to pour that forced the government to suspend classes for two days in a row in Northern Luzon.
