Israel May Occupy Parts of Lebanon
Ryan R. Jones - All Headline News Correspondent Irvine, CA (AHN) - A senior Israeli military officer suggested Sunday that Israel may again occupy parts of southern Lebanon in an effort to decrease the rocket threat to its northern regions. During a briefing at Israel Defense Forces (IDF) Northern Command headquarters, Maj.-Gen. Udi Adam acknowledged that the army's civil administration unit had been ordered to make preparations to administer those parts of Lebanon captured by Israel over the past week, reported The Jerusalem Post. He did not provide any details regarding the duration of any possible occupation. Indicating Israel intends to take no prisoners in its fight with Hezbollah, the general denied reports the IDF plans to set up a large prisoner of war camp, saying the measure would not be necessary.
