23 Killed In Nepal Bus Accident
Siddique Islam - All Headline News Foreign Correspondent Kathmandu, Nepal (AHN) - At least 23 passengers were killed and several others were injured in a passenger bus accident in the Chanaute area of Sindhupalchok district in Nepal on Sunday morning. According to reports, twenty-two passengers died on the spot and another in hospital in the accident that occurred around 11.00 am (local time) while the bus was traveling from capital city Kathmandu to Sindhupalchowk district in northern Nepal near the border with China. Police said the bus heading towards Jalbire village from Kathmandu fell 300 meters off the road and plunged into the Jalbire River, killing at least 22 people on the spot. Twenty-five more passengers were injured in the accident and were being treated at hospitals in Dhulikhel town, a prime tourist destination in the country. The accident took place along the Araniko highway, some 70 km east of the capital, Kathmandu.
