Hezbollah Claims It Is Steadfast Against Israeli Pressure
Josephine Roque - All Headline News Staff Writer (AHN)-Hezbollah militant leader Hassan Nasrallah claims on Arabic TV network al-Jazeera that Israeli attacks had not breached Hezbollah's capabilities. On the subject of the captured Israeli soldiers that started the violence, Nasrallah reiterates they would not be released without a prisoner exchange. "Even the whole universe would not be able to secure the release of the two Israeli soldiers unless there are indirect negotiations and an exchange of prisoners," he said. Israel reported attacking a bunker used by Nasrallah and destroying the militia's missile stocks. Hassan Nasrallah said that the group had "managed to absorb the strike" and was preparing to take "the initiative" in the fight against Israel and "offer some surprises". "All of Israel's claims to have hit half of our missile potential and arsenal are nothing but erroneous words," he added. The UN Secretary General Kofi Annan has clamoured for Israel and Hezbollah to bring attacks in Lebanon to an immediate halt. Israel's attack has resulted in a death toll of at least 306 people and moved some 500,000 in Lebanon in the past nine days. Thirty-one Israelis have been reportedly killed in the fighting which includes 15 civilians casualties killed by Hezbollah rockets.
