The district and sessions judge here issued the non-bailable warrants against the two after they failed to appear before it in response to its summons. This is the second time that the same court issued arrest warrants against the pair living abroad in self exile. A few months ago the court had issued bailable arrest warrants while today it converted them into non-bailable ones. The non-bailable arrest warrants would empower police to detain both of them if they return from their self exile. Bhutto, who has stepped up her campaign against President Pervez Musharraf along with another exiled former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, has been saying that she planned to return home before the general elections next year. Zardari, who was released on bail in 2004 after eight years of detention, is undergoing medical treatment abroad. Bhutto's Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) denounced the arrest warrants as an abuse of the judicial process by the Musharr |
