Security Forces Capture And Kill Terror Leaders In Raids Across Iraq
Matthew Borghese - All Headline News Staff Writer Baghdad, Iraq (AHN) - Iraqi forces have made progress against terrorists, capturing a cell leader and killing another insurgent leader. According to officials an insurgent cell leader who was involved in the planning and organization of an attack on a southern Baghdad mosque on July 13 is now in custody after a raid in the dangerous Al Rasheed district of Baghdad. In a separate raid, Iraqi Army forces killed Abdal-Ghafor, and captured four other suspected insurgents July 14 in northern Iraq. Officials say the raid near Muhallabiyah, southeast of Tal Afar, killed Ghafor (aka Abdal Rahman and Abu Ameen), a senior insurgent leader in the area. Officials say the raid also secured "one sniper rifle; five AK-47 assault rifles; one hand grenade; one rocket-propelled grenade; one improvised explosive device; about 600 rounds of AK-47 ammunition; various amounts of other small-arms ammunition; three blasting caps; and IED-making materials that included wires and batteries."
