Six Militants Get Life For Bombings In Bangladesh
Siddique Islam - All Headline News Foreign Correspondent Dhaka, Bangladesh (AHN) - Six militants of the outlawed Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) were sentenced to life in prison by a court of country's southern district on Monday for blasting bombs on August 17 last year. The District and Sessions Judge of Feni also the judge of special tribunal-1, M Nazrul Islam handed down the punishment, a local news agency reported. Quoting court sources, the Bangladesh Sangbad Sangsth (BSS) reported that they were also fined over US$71.50 each, in default, to remain in jail for six more months. Earlier, the convicts were also sentenced to life in prison on July 3 by a court for their involvement in bomb blasts at Feni Bara Masjid and Feni Pourasabha premises on August 15 last year.
