Indian PM: "We Will Win This War Against Terror"
Jacob Cherian - All Headline News Staff Writer New Delhi, India (AHN) - Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, affirmed India's sturdy resolve against terror when condemned Mumbai attackers. He said, "No one can make India kneel." In a speech to the nation, the Prime Minister affirmed, "It is not the first time the enemies of the nation had tried to undermine our peace and prosperity. These elements have not yet understood that we will never let them win." Dr. Singh also raised "the good work" of the police and security forces, railway staff, firemen and medical personnel in the way they handled the attacks in Mumbai. He also expressed his condolences to "those who have lost their loved ones." The Indian PM was quick to commend the residents of Mumbai. He told the Hindu Times, "Mumbai stands tall once again as the symbol of a united India. An inclusive India." He reaffirmed that no one would stop India's progress: "The wheels of our economy will move on. India will continue to walk tall and with confidence." Furthermore, Dr. Singh assured his country that "the United Progressive Alliance will do whatever is required to deal with the challenge at hand. We will win this war against terror. Nothing will break our resolve." To conclude, the Prime Minister urged his people to be calm: "Do not be provoked by rumors. Do no let anyone divide us. Let us stand together as one people."
