Thirty-One Killed In Nepal Landslide
Siddique Islam - All Headline News Foreign Correspondent Kathmandu, Nepal (AHN)- The death toll reached 31 in a landslide in western Nepal triggered by incessant downpour which is obstructing rescue operations. Thirty people were buried under mud when a landslide swept away an entire settlement in the Kaski district. Two foreign tourists are missing. Police said some 15 houses were swept away in the incident and all the 30 people buried in the mud are presumed dead though only 17 bodies have so far been recovered. Police, army, Maoist cadre and the Red Cross workers were carrying out rescue operations at the village, about 250 kilometres northwest of the capital.
