Tropical Storm Billis Kills 115 In China
Som Patidar - All Headline News Staff Writer Beijing, China (AHN) - Devastating tropical storm Billis killed at least 115 people and injured hundreds as the storm pounded the southern part of China. According to official Xinhua news agency, coastal province of Fujian was the hardest-hit region of the country with 43 deaths recorded. After Fujian, 39 people were killed in Hunan province and 33 in Guangdong province. The agency informed that China evacuated more than 250,000 fishermen and others from coastal areas and canceled airline flights ahead of the storm. China expects to see more storms than usual this year due to an unusually warm current off its Pacific coast and high temperatures over the Tibetan plateau, reports The Associated Press.
