Techno Parade Hits The Streets Of Berlin In All-Night Party
Joanna Wypior - All Headline News Staff Reporter Berlin, Germany (AHN) - Branded as the world's biggest outdoor party, millions of techno music lovers flocked the streets of the German capital of Berlin to celebrate the Love Parade. Having once started out as a small party organized by two local DJs in 1989, the Love Parade was forced into cancellation for the past two years due to financial difficulties. Over one million party-goers were expected at the parade, with over 40 decorated floats making its way through the streets of Berlin. "This is great! I've been waiting three years for this," said Berliner Nicole Koehler, 25, according to BBC News. "Hopefully it will be here every year from now on." The Love Parade hit grew to 1.5 million followers in 1999, but declined in numbers since then, with commercialism and growing costs blamed for its downfall. This year's motto was 'The Love is Back', with dance music fans from all over Europe flocking back to the German capital.
