Female Victim Who Charges Military Personnel Of Rape Wishes She Died
Komfie Manalo - All Headline News Foreign Correspondent Makati, Philippines (AHN) - A Twenty-two-year-old woman being called "Nicole" who accused four American servicemen of rape told the court she wished she just died after Marine Lance Corporal Daniel Smith allegedly forced himself on her while his companions enjoyed watching her ordeal. In between sobs, he told the court, "I wish I just died. What they did to me was too much," "They took away my dignity. He (pointing to Smith) raped me while the others (were) laughing at me, watching us...a live rape show." On her third trip to the witness stand, the Zamboanga City native victim expressed her anger at the four US marines. According to court documents the service men included on the charge sheet are Lance Corporals Keith Silkwood and Dominic Duplantis, and Staff Sergeant Chad Carpentier. She adds, "I want to kill them. If it is allowed, I would be the one to kill them. They have no respect. They think they can have their way with all the women here." Nicole said she is so ashamed and traumatized because of the incident that she can no longer return to Zamboanga because of the shame. She does not even know how to face her friends and relatives. The incident has also taken its toll on her family's finances as she was forced out of her job.
