More Rains Expected In Philippines
Komfie Manalo - All Headline News Foreign Correspondent Quezon City, Philippines (AHN) - Weathermen are predicting more torrential rains and strong winds in the Philippines. Residents in northern Philippines as well as other parts of the country are being warned of flash floods and more landslides. The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said typhoon "Florita" (international codename Bilis) will continue to bring heavy rains as its tail end has affected the monsoon. It was reported by the Associated Press that "Florita" is now battering the coast off Taiwan with torrential rains and strong winds with maximum sustained winds of 110 kilometers per hour and gustiness up to 140 kilometers per hour. Taipei has already canceled domestic flights and grounded several international flights. The typhoon is expected to make landfall Thursday night before moving towards mainland China's Fujian province on Friday afternoon. As of 7am Friday, Metro Manila is still experiencing heavy rainfall and classes are expected to be suspended in other schools.
