US Envoy: Bangladesh An Exceptional Moderate Muslim State In South Asia
Siddique Islam - All Headline News Foreign Correspondent Dhaka, Bangladesh (AHN) - The U.S. Ambassador to Bangladesh, Patricia A Butenis, said that Bangladesh is an exceptional moderate Muslim State in the South Asia. The US envoy made the remark during a visit to the Islamic Foundation office at Baitul Mukarram in Dhaka. Director General of Islamic Foundation Mohammad Fazlur Rahman and director of Imam Training Academy Mohmmad Abul Khair were, among others, present on the occasion. The ambassador said a unique coordination has been prevailing among people of Bangladesh due to their religious tolerance, piousness and modern outlook. During the visit, she went round various sections of the Islamic Foundation and saw for herself development activities of the Baitul Mokarram, National Mosque of Bangladesh. She was impressed at seeing the collection of huge rare books on religious and social theories, political science, economics and culture at the Islamic Foundation Library, a press statement said.
