Two Russians Held In Spain For Governor's Murder
Komfie Manalo - All Headline News Foreign Correspondent Marbella, Spain (AHN) - Spanish authorities confirmed the arrest of two Russian nationals wanted for the murder of a Russian regional governor four years ago. Authorities revealed the names of the two: Martin B. And Aleksandr Z. They were arrested outside the resort of Marbella after Russian authorities requested assistance from Madrid to aid in the capture of the two fugitives. According to the BBC, the two men were prime suspects in the death of Valentin Tsvetkov, the governor of the Magadan region in the Russian Far East. Tsvetkov was shot while walking to his office in Moscow in 2002. Russian police were quick to establish the gunmen were contract killers. At the time of their arrest, the two men were living in two luxury homes popular among foreigners. They were also carrying fake passports when police frisked them. A raid on their homes turned up their true identification cards.
