Israeli Jets Launch Fresh Attack In Lebanon
Komfie Manalo - All Headline News Foreign Correspondent Beirut, Lebanon (AHN) - Israeli jets strike roads and bridges in southern Lebanon in a fresh air attack that officials hope will force the release of two Israeli soldiers being held by Hezbollah militants. A report from the BBC speculates that the air strikes will continue as the Israeli cabinet is increasing the force used against Hezbollah militants. Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert is accusing Lebanon of being responsible for the escalation of the conflict. But Lebanese Prime Minister Fuad Siniora is denying that his government has any knowledge of a Hezbollah station in their country. Since the capture of the two soldiers, Israeli war planes have been flying unopposed deep into southern Lebanon, while ground troops have secured an area southwest of the country. The Israeli Defense Force is also calling on reserves to augment its troops. The air strikes hit a main road near the village of Damour 9.9 miles (16 kms) south of Beirut.
