Update: At Least 16 Killed In Israeli Attacks On Gaza Strip

Gaza (AHN) - At least 16 Palestinians were killed in airstrikes and tank shelling Wednesday in the Gaza strip. Fifteen were wounded, including Hamas military commander Mohammed Def, witnesses and medical officials said.

The nine who where killed died in a double Israeli airstrike on a car and a building in Gaza City's Sheikh Radwan neighborhood and were members of the same family.

About 15 people, including children, were injured in the attacks. Three are listed in critical condition.

Initially Hamas denied that Def was injured in the strike. He later said he had been hit in the legs, but his life was not in danger.
