Shaveta Bansal - All Headline News Staff Writer Wellington, New Zealand (AHN) - The Judge at Christchurch District Court jailed two Indian chefs at the Two Fat Indians restaurant, for raping a schoolgirl. The convicted Kirti Ram, 40, and Manish Kumar Tyagi, 30, were found guilty of raping the 17-year-old girl in their restaurant on January 2 last year. However, the two men alleged that the act had been consensual and it had been arranged in lieu of payment. Ram was convicted on three charges of sexual violation by rape, two of having unlawful sexual connection, one of indecent assault, and two of attempted sexual violation. Tyagi was convicted on three charges of sexual violation by rape, one of having unlawful sexual connection, one of indecent assault, and one of attempted sexual violation. Judge Abbott said he believed drinking alcohol at a function during the day had impaired the men's judgment. He said other evidence - from the girl's boyfriend, who received distressed phone calls from her, during the incident, and from the taxi driver - backed up victim's story. There was also medical evidence of injuries to her genitals. Referring to a breach of trust by Ram, who was first approached by the girl, who was lost in Chr |
