British Plane Diverted After Drunker Woman Starts Scuffle
Shaveta Bansal - All Headline News Staff Writer London, UK (AHN) - A Boeing 757 fight from London Gatwick Airport to the Turkish resort of Antalya on Thursday was diverted after a drunken woman started a scuffle. After every effort to calm down the passenger failed, pilots decided to divert the Thomsonfly plane to Munich, southern Germany where she was handed over to police. A Thomsonfly spokeswoman on Monday said that the holiday plane carrying more than 200 passengers aboard was diverted after a drunken woman started fighting with another female passenger and tried to bite the cabin crew. She said, "The woman had been drinking and was causing considerable disruption. Another woman passenger was hit and the woman tried to bite cabin crew who were trying to restrain her. "She was eventually restrained but broke free and continued to cause disruption. The pilot had no choice but to divert to Munich and the woman and her bags were offloaded and she was handed over to police." The plane eventually landed in Turkey three hours 40 minutes late.
