Second Pedophile Victim Buried In Belgium

The seven-year-old girl was kidnapped and then strangled to death. Stacy Lemmens and her ten-year-old stepsister Nathalie Mahy disappeared during a late night street party. Earlier, the raped body of Mahy was recovered and buried in a private service. BBC reports that the convicted pedophile is in custody and charged with kidnapping the girls. He denies any involvement. Results of more DNA tests are being anticipated by police authorities to finalize the criminal charges. Dozens of people had attended to pay condolences. "We have to make sure that these dramatic sorts of situations don't happen again," said Elio Di Rupo, political leader of Belgium's French-speaking Walloon community, quoted by AFP. Many Belgians paid their respects to the girls at Liege city hall, where a book of condolences was opened, adds BBC. "Our city, our community is suffering enormously," Liege mayor Willy Demeyer told BBC last week. The girls' bodies were found almost three weeks after their disappearance, near the railway line.
