Nji Che - All Headline News Staff Writer Baghdad, Iraq (AHN) - A senior Iraqi official on Monday announced Abu Musab al-Zarqawi had the phone numbers of senior Iraqi officials stored in his cell phone. The report suggests the slain terror leader had connections with some of Iraq's senior government officials. Waiel Abdul-Latif , an Iraqi legislator and, a member of former Prime Minister Ayad Allawi's party said authorities had found the phone numbers of government members in Zarqawi's cell phone after he was killed last June 7. Although he did not cite the names of those concerned, Abdul-Latif said names of civil servants and members of parliament where included in the list. He urged Iraqi authorities to investigate the links between Zarqawi and those whose names appeared in his cell phone book. A CNN news report quotes him saying people, "cannot have one hand with the government and another with the terrorists." The slaying of the former terror leader led to a surge in insurgent attacks in the Iraqi capital. Earlier this month, Iraqi security forces mounted check points and searched vehicles as they drove through the city of Basra and Baghdad. In a bid to restore peace in the country, the Prime Minister vowed to use an "iron fist" on insurgents.
