Female Lawmaker Kidnapped In Iraq
Som Patidar - All Headline News Staff Writer Baghdad, Iraq (AHN) - Gunmen have kidnapped a female lawmaker and at least seven of her bodyguards in Baghdad on Saturday, police official said. Taiseer Najah al-Mashhadani, a member of the Accordance Front, was kidnapped in Shaab district with her seven bodyguards but her eighth bodyguard managed to escape, police official told Reuters. She is the first member of Iraq's parliament to be kidnapped since the December elections. However, a al-Mashhadani's colleague told Aljazeera, no one had contacted the party or set demands in return for her release.
