Al-Qaeda Co-Conspirator In Golden Dome Bombing In Custody
Matthew Borghese - All Headline News Staff Writer Baghdad, Iraq (AHN) - The U.S. military is confirming that they have a terrorist linked to the bombing of the Golden Dome Shiite mosque in Samarra in custody. Iraqi National Security Adviser Mouwafak al-Rubaie says Abu Qudama, an al-Qaeda operative linked to the bombing, was seized by Kurdish pershmerga troops in a May 20 firefight north of Baghdad. According to U.S. Army Maj. Gen. William B. Caldwell, Abu Qudama, (aka Yousri Fakher Mohammed Ali) a Tunisian, is an admitted participant of the Feb. 22 bombing of the Golden Dome; an act which set off a new wave of sectarian violence across Iraq. General Caldwell explains that news of the capture was withheld, to give interrogators more time to learn valuable information from Qudama while in custody. Haitham Sabah Shaker Mohammed al-Badri, the ringleader of the bombing, however, remains at large.
