India Seeks Bangladesh's Support For UN Secretary General Candidate

Dhaka, Bangladesh (AHN) - India has sought Bangladesh's support in favor of her candidate to the post of the next Secretary General of the United Nations.

The Indian High Commissioner Veena Sikri sought the support while she met Foreign Minister of Bangladesh M Morshed Khan at his office in Dhaka on Wednesday.

She informed the Foreign Minister that India has nominated UN Under Secretary General Shashi Tharoor as her candidate for the top post of the UN, a local news agency reported.

The Foreign Minister exchanged views on issues of UN reforms and also the candidature for the post of the Secretary General of the UN, BDNEWS reported.
