Canada Bestows Honorary Citizenship On Dalai Lama
Ankit Gupta - All Headline News Staff Writer Dharamshala, India (AHN) - The Canadian government has decided to grant honorary citizenship to Buddhist spiritual leader the Dalai Lama, the move has been welcomed by the Tibetan government-in-exile. The Buddhist spiritual leader is scheduled to visit Canada in the month of September this year. Before the Dalai Lama, the Canadian parliament has bestowed this Honor on South Africa's Nelson Mandela and Hungarian leader Raoul Wallenberg who saved the lives of thousands of Jews, reported the the Times of India. The Dalai Lama who has just returned from his visit to Petra in Jordan where the Nobel laureate had gone to attend a conference, is presently is holding a week long talk in Dharamshala for his followers from across the world on the Buddhist way of life.
